Long before 300 mph, there was a kid watching his father race. Barry Paton spent nearly six decades chasing speed—from Super Stock and Competition Eliminator to Alcohol Funny Cars and Top Fuel. Then he put his son Todd behind the wheel.

Todd Paton didn't learn racing from a book. He grew up in it. In 1991, he climbed into the family Alcohol Funny Car. A year later, he had his first national event win. Two IHRA World Championships followed.
Then came NHRA. NHRA national event winner, a five-time Canadian Drag Racer of the Year, and a driver capable of pushing a Top Fuel dragster beyond 317 mph.
Todd's documented career includes seven IHRA national event wins, IHRA championships in 1993 and 1995, four NHRA national event wins, and a career-best speed of 317.72 mph.

In 2023, Barry and Todd Paton were inducted together into the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
